EDGE DANCE COMPANY

An audition is required to join Company. Dancers at the competitive level are dedicated to perfecting their craft. They will practice anywhere from 8-15 hours per week, depending on age and technical level. Edge Company Dancers take classes in all disciplines of the art; most important is Ballet, where students will learn what is crucial for every dancer to know, technique. Company students are also required to take general technique classes, such as Jumps and Turns, to perfect specific skills used in their choreography. They will compete in Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre. Arizona Edge will strive to build an esteemed reputation by attending competitions and conventions throughout the country. At the competitive level dancers discover the value of hard work, commitment, and sportsmanship. Competition gives children a chance to set a goal, work all year to achieve it, and then challenges them to surpass those accomplishments. It builds character, teaches them confidence, self discipline, respect for their team and those they compete against; and a work ethic that can only be learned at this advanced level... These are attributes that will remain with the children for their entire lives.
